It all began with such a simple statement: “I think I have a crush on you”.

From the moment Charlie said that to Jasmine their lives forever changed. The next day they had the first date that would rival all first dates – in having the potential to be the most boring first date ever. Charlie had an online fantasy hockey draft planned, but they had both wanted to see each other. After being given a fair warning, she convinced him that it could still be a fun time. Together, full of giggles, a bit of snuggles, and the start of some inside jokes, they built a team together (side note – the team ended up winning the league!). The date felt so natural, comfortable, and fun. It was that day Charlie knew this was something special and that the hour and 20 minute drive to see her was more than worth it.

Nearly a year later, they signed a lease and started the next big adventure in their lives – Charlie moving out on his own for the first time and Jasmine living with a boy for the first time! They continued to build their lives together and bought their first house in 2017. Cozy in their new home, they grew their family by getting their dog Winston a kitten sister, Nora.

It was no secret that Jasmine wanted Charlie to propose. However, he wanted it to be a surprise when it did ultimately happen. Given that Jasmine is so curious – it’s hard to keep secrets from her. Still, he was determined to surprise her and planned a weekend away to propose. After she nearly ruined it by grabbing his keys from the coat pocket the ring was in – he managed to catch her off guard and got down on one knee. Now, they’re looking forward to celebrating their love with all those that they love as they say “I do”.
